For Jed...
The stars were talking, one fine day,
About a fellow star who'd lost his way,
They said, "He's been gone an awful long while,
Down there on earth, many a mile. -
He must have alot of "shining" to do,
Into so many lives, and some sad hearts too.
I guess we'll all just have to wait,
Until he returns, on some fine date.
But we envy those folks he shines upon,
For the light he shines is brighter than the sun.
It's the light of his God, the light of His heart,
The light of His smile, that sets him apart. We hope he remembers to return one day,
But we're sure his God will show him the way.
For we know God has never lost a star,
Or let him travel very far.
The light he leaves behind will last,
It will shine into the future, the present and the past.
And though many will miss it when its shining is done,
It's a light that's everlasting, and many hearts will be won.
